Where My Heart Finds Paws
Hey everybody! My name is Malia and as the tagline mentions, I am a dancer ✨ I am also super into photography, all things related to animals, and music 🩷
I’ve always been the kind of girl who notices animals before anything else. Before the sky, before the buildings, before the noise of the world. My eyes find the small things first — the cat stretched out in a patch of sunlight, the dog wagging its tail like it’s never known a bad day, the bird hopping along the sidewalk like it owns the place.
Animals make sense to me in a way people sometimes don’t. They don’t pretend. They don’t hold grudges. They don’t love halfway. When an animal trusts you, it’s quiet and gentle and honest, like they’re saying, I see you, and you’re safe with me.
I’ve been the girl who stops mid-conversation because a dog is passing by. The girl who crouches down on the sidewalk to say hi to a stranger’s cat. The girl who feels her whole mood change just from hearing a purr or feeling warm fur under her hands. Animals have this way of pulling me out of my head and grounding me in the moment, reminding me that love doesn’t have to be complicated to be real.
When the world feels loud or heavy, animals are my calm. Sitting next to a sleeping dog feels like borrowing peace. Watching fish glide through water feels like breathing slower without trying. Even animals I’ve never met — wolves, horses, elephants — remind me that there’s something powerful and beautiful about being exactly what you are, without apology.
Loving animals has shaped who I am. It’s taught me patience, softness, and the kind of care that doesn’t expect anything in return. It’s made me more aware of the small lives around me, the ones that don’t ask for much but give so much just by existing.
I don’t just like animals — I feel connected to them. They’re my comfort, my joy, my reminder that kindness still exists in its purest form. And maybe that’s why I love them so deeply. Because in a world that can be overwhelming, animals are my proof that love can be simple, quiet, and endlessly loyal.
