Through My Lens, I Breathe

Hey everybody! My name is Malia and as the tagline mentions, I am a dancer ✨ I am also super into photography, all things related to animals, and music 🩷

I’m the kind of girl who sees the world in frames. Every moment feels like it could be paused, captured, held onto for just a little longer if I have my camera in my hands. While other people walk past things without noticing, I stop. I look twice. I wait. Photography taught me that the magic is never loud — it’s hiding in light, in shadows, in the way a moment exists only once.

My camera is more than a hobby; it’s how I understand things. When words don’t come out right, I let images speak for me. A cracked sidewalk after rain, sunlight slipping through a window, a laugh caught mid-motion — these are the things that feel honest. Photography lets me tell stories without asking permission, without explaining myself.

I love chasing light. Golden hour feels like a promise, like the world is briefly softer just for me. I’ve waited minutes, sometimes hours, just to catch the exact second when everything lines up. And when it does, it feels like holding something fragile and rare, something no one else will ever see the same way again.

Being into photography has changed how I move through life. I pay attention. I slow down. I see beauty where others see ordinary. I’ve learned that not every moment needs to be perfect to be meaningful — sometimes the blurry shots, the imperfect angles, the unplanned frames end up being the most real.

I don’t just take pictures. I collect pieces of time. And through my lens, I don’t just capture the world — I finally feel like I belong in it.
